MIDNIGHT POETRY – “Without Sirens”

Without Sirens

Ambulance driver full of patience
Setting up the stretcher
Tying up the straps

Hands tight from defense
Metal cuffs rip the skin
Giving in to the trap

Buzz of depot substance
Running through the blood
Calmness brings out overtone

To voices in the head
Call me back once I’m awake
I won’t sleep at home.
