MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Riddled’

Riddled

As we march
Into the unpredictable
The well known ‘me’
With the insecure ‘I’

The rumbling of thoughts
Swooshing through my brain
Sparks of thunderbolts
Flashes of lightning

Microscopic greatness
On a Petri dish
Slush of fat cells
Moving through space

Invisible chains
Holding my reality
World full of sanitation
Yet without sanity

Training my perception
To look at the beauty
With grace and awe
Full of expectation
An order in an action

Stay with me
Hold me tight
We are meant to be
Have a free will
Only sign here

Illusions vanished
What came after
The time of honeymoon
Love and peace

Esteemed architects
Burning bridges
Dry land of bare souls
Living in harmony

Truth on a plate
Masking tape fell off
Wrinkled soul
Shivers exposed in the heat

Calling no number
Breaking silence
Deep within
Found the Self

Lost in the heat of night
Day full of promise
Best of times to be had
Yet to dream big

Shadows of the I
Creeping up on my Self

Exposed

Blended into wholeness

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘In Death’s Face’

Let me preface this poem so you know how it came about. My thoughts after a few recent conversations with a few friends regarding people they knew who took their life or attempted a suicide.

In Death’s Face

So you thought I’m tired
Of living the life as requested
When the darkness opened the door
And the breeze of freedom swept me in

Silence upon the noisy chatter
Blind follower of a notion
That here is only suffering
Pain and emotions of void

The other side of heaven
Welcomes by burning a fire
Ready for my bones
Popping corn and I scream

Soon to be quiet and peaceful
In Vitro rebirth
Intestine on the outside
Blood and cells in vain

Ever too late for my own party?
Don’t mind my dreams
Wasted opportunities
To live and die as planned
Never accepted by me

Now what!
My vision failed me
So you saved me
I’m still here
Forcing another breath

Under performance
Life in slow motion
Bile of truth
Seeping out
Sleeping angrily
Time out

Alive in death’s laughing face

MIDNIGHT POETRY “Mission For Zero Emission”

Mission For Zero Emission

From place A to B we move
Without the need to walk
New way of transport
Is in the mainstream talk

Soon comes time for elections
Who gets our vote?
Not an easy selection
Tender for a quote

In the heat of preparation
Parties on each side
Try for our stimulation
Cuddling kids who cried

Trouble is, the pretty ties
Giving talks and promises
Too soon turn to lies
Following change of premises

Ozone shield is full of holes
And nowhere any rain
OUT with fuel that gets burned
Bring on EVs! Let’s use the brain

Sleek as a smile, dream to drive
Old habits die-hard and slow
For future gen to thrive
CO emissions have to go

It’s no brainer for the fans
In the love with Tesla
Sexy wheels with zero fumes
‘Safety first!’ reports the test lab

Comes the time future is here
Tons of EVs on the show
Range anxiety no longer a fear
Charger networks quickly grow

The big little island in its solitude
Pretending to be proficient
Living in denial of magnitude
That ICE cars are being efficient

MIDDAY POETRY “Online Love Affair”

Let me introduce this one…It’s dedicated to a friend of mine whose condensed story it represents. Please read with caution 😉

“ONLINE LOVE AFFAIR”

Blue sky above
I search for love
Finding it online
Is my hopeful chance

Formidable hurdles
On a first date
Having paid for coffee
Nothing on a plate

Words stuck in my throat
Do you have a boat
Even little mansion
Would pay for a pension

Many days and too much time
Research conducted online
Profile photo tells a story
In reality I am sorry

Divorced to his sixth wife
On a hunt for a new life
Retired now being lonely
At home dressed in PJ’s only

Few moments go past
Closing time at last
Exchange numbers paid the bill
Rather unsure how I feel

After coffee empty belly
Let’s go home and watch the telly
My place or yours
Now standing at my doors

Life gives us one chance
First impression at a glance
Tea and cookies milk with foam
He makes himself feel at home

Bedroom door now widely open
Mellow music makes the scene
On the pillow his head resting
Shirt off my nerves just testing

Full of colors different form
Tattoos of all types the norm
Cookies in hand and the tea in the pot
I turned my heels on the spot

Apologies fly in the air
I am not interested to be fair
My taste buds dislike colored ink

Best to leave it at that I think
