MIDDAY POETRY – ‘On Board’

the ship docked in harbor
the placid water held it afloat
all the passengers disembarked
towards new adventures
on the paradise island

only the crew remained
resting after the hard work
then slowly preparing
for the return journey
and the buzz of people
once back on board

new food supply was loaded
fresh water delivered
the floors got scrubbed
the cabins freshened
passengers started to arrive
broad smiles and sun tanned

the weather was fine
sun filled fluffy clouds
light breeze moving the air
the perfect day on the water
when one is happy to just be
while enjoying life in motion

MIDNIGHT POETRY -‘The One’

Be it what may
It’s a public holiday
Perhaps you didn’t know
Choc eggs are not the go
In the land of my birth
They celebrate rebirth

The son of a chippy
Himself bit of a hippie
Barefoot he walked
Savings he talked

To anyone afflicted
Full healing predicted
Noble values and morals
Dissolved all quarrels

Then he spoke of salvation
Through his family relation
His words fell on dead ears
Forsaken by his peers

Undergone a foot soak
Last dinner was a joke
Burdened by a chunky wood
Nobody then understood

Didn’t put up a fight
Staying true to his light
Having had a strong will
His message remains still

Come on now it is not funny
To celebrate the Easter Bunny
Hot buns with sweet white cross
Compensate for greater loss
Thorny wreath and bunch of nails
The devil is in details

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘ Only Change’

trading time for money
energy limited resource
house built on debt
family of ghosts

hamster in a wheel
the endless run
wiped out all the
left over wits

river within its banks
carving the rocks
running its course
without fail

life like a river
seeping away
from us all
sooner than later

shaping us by the flow
nothing stays the same
only change remains
for eternity

MIDDAY POETRY – ‘On The Top’

standing on the top admiring
the vastness of the mountain ranges
the depth of the lakes below
high altitude that takes the breath away

as the cool wind picks up
dissipating the stale
memories and all worries
swept away into the distance

beyond the self protecting ego
screaming loudly on the way up
breaking through the discomfort
of the body and the small mind

victorious
inhaling deeply
oxygen filling the lungs
rebuilding the strength
to continue the journey

into the abyss
uplifted
