MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Sleepy Celebrations’

heavy eyelids
stretching belly
empty pot and
cleanly licked plate

energy levels just enough
to watch the telly
soon to become
all that we ate

the sleepy mood
brings one in sync
with a rainy day
humidity through the roof

to celebrate now
let’s have a drink
of hot chocolate
Valentine’s proof

Poem ‘Sleepy Celebrations’ read by the author.

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Community’

communal kitchen double sink
group prayers peace maker
late nights get one to think
since they got to share an acre

who wants to be alone
gets referral from the gp
padded room of their own
surroundings a little creepy

make no judgement on the go
there is rarely one to blame
for a sold out magic show
brought the trickster fame

Poem ‘Community’ read by the author.

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Water Views’

water views with a breeze
spacious layout of the rooms
hear the neighbour sneeze
carpark below spewing fumes

vicinity of the sea and shops
nearby colossal disease centre
round the corner lurking cops
for the late paying renter

Poem ‘Water Views’ read by the author.

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘The Drive’

blurry old glasses
speed signs hard to tell
countryside quickly passes
road that leads to hell

coffee helps only wee bit
to brighten the light of day
one has to believe it
or know how to pray

to drive the roads less travelled
might be a smarter way
old threads to be unraveled
new horizons come to play

black computer keyboard
the vehicle of choice
typing not to be bored
by chatter of the inner voice

Poem ‘The Drive’ read by the author.
