MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Riddled’

Riddled

As we march
Into the unpredictable
The well known ‘me’
With the insecure ‘I’

The rumbling of thoughts
Swooshing through my brain
Sparks of thunderbolts
Flashes of lightning

Microscopic greatness
On a Petri dish
Slush of fat cells
Moving through space

Invisible chains
Holding my reality
World full of sanitation
Yet without sanity

Training my perception
To look at the beauty
With grace and awe
Full of expectation
An order in an action

Stay with me
Hold me tight
We are meant to be
Have a free will
Only sign here

Illusions vanished
What came after
The time of honeymoon
Love and peace

Esteemed architects
Burning bridges
Dry land of bare souls
Living in harmony

Truth on a plate
Masking tape fell off
Wrinkled soul
Shivers exposed in the heat

Calling no number
Breaking silence
Deep within
Found the Self

Lost in the heat of night
Day full of promise
Best of times to be had
Yet to dream big

Shadows of the I
Creeping up on my Self

Exposed

Blended into wholeness

WE ARE WHO WE THINK WE ARE

If you haven’t heard that concept before, you might be a little surprised to learn it.

In fact, it’s not an accurate description of who we truly are in the core of our being. However, the person who gets presented externally to others is a reflection upon the internal representation of our self. That ‘image’ which we hold so close to our heart. Let’s cover this in more detail.

How would you describe yourself? Who are you? What defines you?

Ok, let me help you here. Say you think about yourself that you are a smart cookie. Let’s say you think you are very resourceful. Or you think you are too short or too tall for your age. Another perceived ‘fact’ of your persona could be that you are not beautiful enough. Or that you are always clumsy.

All of the above identifiers show in your external behavior. They also come across in your speech. And as energy follows thought this creates your reality.

What we believe about ourselves, who we believe we are, we recreate externally.

And if you want to test it, think about the traits of someone you either like or dislike. What are their qualities? What makes them likeable to you?

What you might have thought someone was, is just who they show you to be.

I will stretch this concept a little further. We only see in others, what we have inside of ourselves.

The true is that if you like a trait in a person, you have the same quality inside of you. What might have happened is that you are unaware of this being your trait.

So, I suggest you bring awareness to what personalities you are drawn to and what you are trying to avoid.

That will be a good indicator of your own internal qualities and dislikes.

The Good Part Being

In reality, we are much more than what we perceive to be. However, to get to a point, when we can actually really change into the person we would admire and would like to become, we need to realize who we are being now. With awareness comes realization and possibility for change.

Becoming the ideal self is a mastery journey. Most of us have some form of unwanted traits, which we mastered unconsciously, during an early form of social conditioning. That is, however, not an excuse for keeping it that way forever. We have the capacity to change. We can become the person we admire.

Becoming aware of our own internal representations, who we PERCEIVE ourselves to be, is a great step forward. Start today. Look inside and realize who you had been thinking you were!

Stretch your imagination to the heights of possibility and design the person you would love being.

The one you are waiting for is you.

WHO IS YOUR REAL ENEMY?

This might seem to be a question that you think you know the answer to. If anyone popped up in your mind when reading the question they surely would not make it to a list of people you would rely on.

Life is an interesting adventure. Some call it a game. Others think this life is a punishment. Whatever is your take on life, life is best lived. Life challenges make us grow stronger wings. And flying is the ultimate of gifts which we don’t seem to be mastering without an engine. At least not yet.

So, who really is your ultimate enemy?

Enemy, who wakes you up in sweat in the middle of the night. Enemy, whose voice is so difficult to hear. The one who seems to know you so well. The one who doesn’t let you go anywhere on your own. You are never alone. They are watching every step, every breath you take.

WHO is it?

See if you can relate: Your INTERNAL critic! The voice that we hear every day, almost in every moment of our waking time.
Criticizing our past decisions, actions, future endeavours, ideas…and in the process, creating insecurities and anxieties.

Now, if you don’t have one of these internal voices, you are a very fortunate being.

However, for those of you, who can relate to the above here are some personal tips and well known strategies.

How to deal with your enemy with some extraordinary strategies

  1. Accept it as part of your personal journey.
  2. Recall who in your past could have the same kind of voice.
  3. Learn to change the tonality in which their voice speaks to you.
  4. Bring some fun into their existence (e.g. in your mind’s eye, imagine it as a movie character with a husky voice).
  5. Turn an imaginary knob and tune out the sound of this voice and replace it by some harmonious sounds.
  6. Appreciate that its primary function was to preserve your safety.
  7. Kindly explain to the voice (only in your head preferably) that you will be fine even without his suggestions.
  8. As the saying goes: “Feel the fear and do it anyway!”
  9. Become aware of when the voice takes over your moments.
  10. Learn to love the ‘enemy’.
