MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Alert’

force of nature
fear of the unknown
grim predictions

powerful elements
falling rain
steady moving low

tucked away
under soft sheets
turning and tossing

constant
barrage of
questions

future options
going through
alert mind

jumping to
conclusions
sleepless night

low lying house
past floods
uncertainty

eyes wide open

MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Relax Into It’

the dark circles under the blue eyes
speak for years of sleep deprivation
now relax and breathe
our soul family is with us forever

the heart is where love resides
beyond the pulsing muscle
vibrant body is a safe haven
for the ever present spirit

raw music in the back of the head
the clarity as it comes through
the bold notes and trumpets
the unique symphony

be it our solace that all once ends
the end of the drama is here
the judgement day is in the past
stop the worry and relax into it

let the emotions burn then subside
little bit at a time there is no hurry
stay in the present moment
relieved there is still more to be

becoming new again

MORNING POETRY – “Keep me awake”

Midnight well past its prime
Who would have thought
My pupils held by matches
Could not stay in bed

Mind chatter in an empty space
Brain asleep long time ago
Moon walk to the desk
Body in an illusion of a day

What keeps us awake at night
When the darkness prevails
Days of worries gone by
Future uncertainties

New Facebook notifications
Flashing red signs of high
Dopamine kicking in
Make up for the lost night

Morning sun to rise soon
Bum still in the office chair
Coming to senses
Gone back to bed

In search of the invisible
