The Guru Myth

it’s a myth
if we believe
there is a guru
who has it all

once we put a person
on a pedestal
above us
hiccups arise

the moment
they don’t match
our expectations
and set of values

we are upset
they were not
the guru we
thought we knew

the problem is
we are often
minimizing
ourselves

in the hope
someone
understands us
better than we do

in the process
saving us
from our demons
insecurities

the truth is
they often have
some of their own
weak spots

this is important
and inherent
part of our collective
human experience

MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Spot-of-I on Spotify’

euphonious tunes
filling my pods
to humming
of the heater

ample time
invested into
recordings of
audio today

earlier poems
immortalized
with my voice
on waves

chuffed with
unfolding of
the procedure
smoothly

in the process
of recording
most of my
poems

eager to see
whether this
exercise gives
them wings

spanning
over two

inconvenient
gift of nature
new guest
uninvited

nature has
her ways in
looking after
pest control

written on
the menu
resident
