MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘The Drive’

blurry old glasses
speed signs hard to tell
countryside quickly passes
road that leads to hell

coffee helps only wee bit
to brighten the light of day
one has to believe it
or know how to pray

to drive the roads less travelled
might be a smarter way
old threads to be unraveled
new horizons come to play

black computer keyboard
the vehicle of choice
typing not to be bored
by chatter of the inner voice

Poem ‘The Drive’ read by the author.

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘At leisure’

so you say you don’t care
the answer I hear a lot
what about your sanity
when I lose the plot

you say you don’t care
then ask me what’s the matter
when I throw a tantrum
plates and glass then shatter

when I ask you questions
you said it many times
our persistent beliefs
are like stingy crimes

then open your mind
into the world of caring
let’s live happily ever after
minds and hearts sharing

now wait no longer for the day
that brings us that much pleasure
give a damn or give a f-ck
just pick one at your leisure

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Mirrors of Sand’

swirling tornado
nimble and savage
robust and bold

raw energy
fierce motion
tireless

out and in its core
mirrors of sand
liquid imagery

vanity on the move
fantasy of security
just a mirage

Poem ‘Mirrors of Sand’ read by the author.

MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Early’

roosters crowing
orange marigolds
coconut fiber baskets
gods daily offerings

smell of smoke
burning waste
sleepless joggers
broken footpath

the sea reaches out
cocoons the swimmers
sun warms the body
another glorious day

on this island
paradise
on earth

Poem ‘Early’ read by the author.
