MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Still’

crushing down waves
pouring skies
cut the ties
with the world around

time to reflect
to be with oneself
nowhere else
but inside

busyness stopped
all is calm
silence around
apart from the rain

what do we need
what do we really
crave to do and be
other than that

an opportunity
to go within
to slow down
to be in joy

still…
alive

MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Indigestible News’

staring at the news
bleak prospect
ongoing installing
of fear

how much anxiety
can one tolerate
before crushing
down

time to break
the cycle
of trusting
the narrative

our anniversary
deserved better
celebration than
injecting bad news

weather outside
still quite placid
so we took off
for a swim

alone on the road
quiet atmosphere
the dam was silent
only us submerged

dinner in an open
vegan restaurant
supporting the
brave hearts

food to live for
so we ordered
more then we
should

on the way home
sky with fluffy clouds
sun setting fast
on the horizon

home again
time to digest
beware of swallowing
more of the

same news

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘The Drive’

blurry old glasses
speed signs hard to tell
countryside quickly passes
road that leads to hell

coffee helps only wee bit
to brighten the light of day
one has to believe it
or know how to pray

to drive the roads less travelled
might be a smarter way
old threads to be unraveled
new horizons come to play

black computer keyboard
the vehicle of choice
typing not to be bored
by chatter of the inner voice

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘At leisure’

so you say you don’t care
the answer I hear a lot
what about your sanity
when I lose the plot

you say you don’t care
then ask me what’s the matter
when I throw a tantrum
plates and glass then shatter

when I ask you questions
you said it many times
our persistent beliefs
are like stingy crimes

then open your mind
into the world of caring
let’s live happily ever after
minds and hearts sharing

now wait no longer for the day
that brings us that much pleasure
give a damn or give a f-ck
just pick one at your leisure
