MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Fifty’

turning fifty
quick it goes
gifts you get
wished to foes

morning blues
late night news
growing out of
fancy shoes

hot flashes
on a winter day
summer heat
you wish away

wearing shorts
now causing issues
flabby cheeks
excess tissues

food you eat
turns into fat
your stomach grows
your mood is flat

anti-wrinkle cream
no longer effective
the human blueprint
proven defective

MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Rainy Rhyme’

softly falling rain
removes the chain
of emotional pain
make it our goal main
to become fit again

heavy lifting like a crane
could feel insane
forsake words profane
if body weight you gain
oxygen flows in a vein

is it safe to explain
what does soda contain
artificial sweeteners refrain
the taste of a new domain
drink fresh sugar cane
get rid of the wine stain

stop to vilify grain
its effects ascertain
body fuel regain
learn to entertain
in the fast lane
like a bullet train

with no champagne
if we are to be sane
it may sound mundane
food is to sustain
not energy drain
extra pounds do retain
diets to disdain

it’s a deeper terrain
stop to complain
no longer restrain
preaching was in vain
eating is not humane

abstain

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘You Are Fat’

I am fat
Because I love food
More than myself

MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Fitting In’

fitting into shrinking pants
fitting into society
no longer fit for purpose

pear shaped statue
the fallen hero
off the pedestal

misery laying
across the footpath
irritating passers by

the missing piece
of the life’s puzzle
to be discovered

desperation
labeled
home made
