MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Purpose’

purpose, the big question
that gives many indigestion
asking people about it
life goes on without it

swirls of stardust in the sky
on the ground the little i
storms in heavens brewing
what on earth are we doing

deep blue water sustains life
floating plastic debris rife
the horizon full of fires
burning all human desires

in the end what matters most
just before we turn to ghost
to cherish life as precious art
clear conscience loving heart

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘The Knight’

morning alleyway
silent feet shuffle
river of grey suits

lights faintly glow
distant smell of coffee
bakery opens the door

city full of ghosts
screen in hand
heading to a desk

morning routine
run on autopilot
eyes half shut

fresh coffee sip
time to regain
consciousness

awareness still
in deep sleep
shrouded in a veil

vision of a bleak future
not enough to sustain
whims of the offsprings

on a hamster wheel
going nowhere far
waiting aimlessly

for the one day
the shiny knight arrives
to slay the dragon…

to win this game
to break out
of the cage

wake up
from the daily
societal dream

crack the code
realize-be
awareness…
the knight

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘In Baby’s Eyes’

only mother knows
how child’s hair grows
only fathers can speak
of faterhoods technique

child is born too young
then learns a new tongue
gifted with odd moving parts
smile that melts all hearts

soon they start to crawl
licking painted wall
learning as they go
for viewers quite a show

growing up one day at a time
now on furniture they climb
the progress watched closely
still supervised mostly

skip and jump the teenage years
cuteness with time disappears
adulthood starts to slowly creep
starting their own family – a faith leap

newborn babies rewrite time
their presence feels sublime
lending adults wings of youth
uncovering the deeper truth

their eyes reflect our innocence
in sight of souls’ magnificence
prior to our fear of living
our own greatness reliving

being one with all of life
put aside the daily strife
yet most of all we enjoy
their capacity to hold joy

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Reminder’

as the saying goes
‘energy flows
where attention goes’
in life it shows

focus on failure
brings more of the same
change in behavior
uplifts the game

like a beam of laser
attention follows the lead
fear cuts like a razor
love brings all we need

to live the life we desire
clear vision we need to build
one that will take us higher
where we would feel fulfilled

our future is a present
gifted to us each dawn
let’s make it yet more pleasant
too soon we will be gone
