MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Going Nuts’

going nuts for pecans
unimpressed by cheesy cashews
walnuts in the shape of a brain
good fortune of hazelnuts
pinenuts loved by black cockatoos
brazil nuts from the amazon
creamy buttery macadamias
a hard nut to crack!

MIDNIGHT MUSINGS – ‘Silly Words of Delayed Sleep’

my friend has a friend and their friend
told my friend ‘s friend about my friend
who knew? we all are now best friends!
….

i was stimulating my visual cortex
watching flames
until the fire in my spine
became double helix
….

my feet are on fire
must have been
fast running
from my duties
….

chances like this don’t come often
until one day when the bag splits open
and they all start pouring out
into the Santa’s lap
….

thoughts are those little flickering specs
that dissapear faster than you can say
i know
….

stop pushing your luck
and instead pull the rabbit
out of the bagpipes
….

don’t ask me what this means
i write what comes unfiltered
like a turkish coffee
….

the sediment is rather dark and deep
the mind is even more so
….

without the freedom to express
the change is very slow
….

got stuck in a heatwave
not a fan!
….

my god who would you have to bless
if you didn’t create me?
….

please put some scense into this
nonsense
….

and i have tumor…typo …two more
….

anticipation is detrimental to health
so i jump into speeches
….

reflecting on our life means
many lived experiences

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Uninspired’

uplifting tune for the eardrums
finding time to contemplate
being one with the keyboard
gazing at the invisible paper

words anticipated at the fingertips
the calming notes gently moving
the muse still at her latest gig
patiently awaiting her arrival

raindrops falling on the window
what could feed new inspiration
the mind trickster whispers
it’s a piece of cake

distracted by mental imagery of food
the temptation is almost palatable
self discipline comes into play
eat or not to eat now the question

deep breath and still another
follow the rhythmic beats
getting back to the center focus
the key is to move the fingers

what just popped on the screen
acidentaly hit the wrong key
once all cleared now let’s go again
back in pinpointed concentration

last rays of the winter sun dissipated
today is soon to be yesterday
wasted now slowly evaporating
so many words yet no message
gutted

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘New Angle’

luminous stars filled the night sky
years away and yet visible to the naked eye
as we sat silently around the fireplace
gazed at the distant galaxies
flames burned away any worries

specs of light thus far in the distance
reminded us of life beyond the daily strife
cries of one in the whole of cosmos
suddenly rather trivial
