MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Quiz’

what is there
blank stare
what is there
looking out the eyes
what is there
too many lies

who is there
to save us from ourselves
who is there
to dodge the crowd
who is there
to figure it all out

where is there
peace in the world
where is there
beauty without art
where is there
joy in the heart

when is there
moment of calm
when is there
the best time
when is there
no more crime

why is there
so many questions
why is there
in and out breath
why is there
birth and death

MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Beyond’

mellow tune
vivid journey
landscape of
memories

open passage
boundless
serendipitous
encounters

inner map
new territory
beyond thought
pure elation

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Priorities’

modern lifestyle
ripped jeans bare bum
stereo headphones
crowning the head

sound immersion
above covering the base
channels of influencers
spreading their truth

any city street
full of bent necks
bodies hunched
eyes on the screen

breathing restricted
to a pause in speech
airtime of more value
than air itself

The Guru Myth

it’s a myth
if we believe
there is a guru
who has it all

once we put a person
on a pedestal
above us
hiccups arise

the moment
they don’t match
our expectations
and set of values

we are upset
they were not
the guru we
thought we knew

the problem is
we are often
minimizing
ourselves

in the hope
someone
understands us
better than we do

in the process
saving us
from our demons
insecurities

the truth is
they often have
some of their own
weak spots

this is important
and inherent
part of our collective
human experience
