The Guru Myth

it’s a myth
if we believe
there is a guru
who has it all

once we put a person
on a pedestal
above us
hiccups arise

the moment
they don’t match
our expectations
and set of values

we are upset
they were not
the guru we
thought we knew

the problem is
we are often
minimizing
ourselves

in the hope
someone
understands us
better than we do

in the process
saving us
from our demons
insecurities

the truth is
they often have
some of their own
weak spots

this is important
and inherent
part of our collective
human experience

MIDNIGHT POETRY – ‘Divine Instrument’

stop wait
now slowly
ever so slowly
move to the rhythm
of a handpan

celestial sound
coming out of
that precious ufo
shaped instrument
blissed

exploding inside
healing the cells
in the place of music
divine melody
in sync

stagnant energies
leaving the body
fresh new air
filling the lungs
alive

staying present
in this minute
experience
cheerful joy
vibrating

peace

MIDDAY POETRY – ‘Their Influence’

glass ceiling
shattered into
tiny shards

They walked
in to this era
boldly

earlier led by
Him — while She
stood behind

unheard
misunderstood
silently choking

suddenly
change of colors
a rainbow

books rewritten
history became
Their-story

Her place
forgotten
His forsaken

unified
turned into
Theirs

MIDNIGHT POETRY -‘Craving’

impulse
desire
craving

something
savoury
or sweet

first
salted
nuts

still
unsatisfied

followed by
heaps of
other goodies

too many
to list

blaming
the weather
body chills

pants
too small
to wear

need to
go shopping

belly
overflowing
the waistline

taste buds
what a
curse!
