MORNING POETRY – ‘The Slice’

Friday night
at the local
Mama’s

ordered pizza
garlic and basil
mozzarella cheese

crowd of youths
filled the shop
after the game

empty belly
loud voices
excitement

the counter
full of tickets
waiting

the kitchen
staff worked
non stop

prepping
baking
washing

all the pizzas
finally served
time to go

wee hours
a new game
has began
